'Friends Wednesday' is the endearing name given to the regular mid-week dinner ritual that we have had for many years with our Barossa mates. It involves taking turns to host, cooking up a storm and working our way through the bottles (and bottles) of wine that everyone brings to share. Sometimes there are blind tastings, debates and some good old rivalry between winemakers. Often resulting in a dusty Thursday, it is what life is all about - great company, banter, food and wine! We hope this wine encourages you to create rituals, stories and memories of your own...maybe even a dusty Thursday or two.
Ooh, tell me more about the wine...
'Friends Wednesday' is crafted from grapes sourced from the renowned Western Ridge of the Barossa Valley. A deliberate contrast to 'The Vice' Shiraz that we make out of the other side of the region in Eden Valley, 'Friends Wednesday' displays the boldness that Barossan Shiraz is typically known.
GI (region where grapes sourced): Barossa Valley
Colour: Deep crimson with violet hues.
Aroma: Fragrant aromas of blue and blackcurrant fruit, entwined with layers of red liquorice and spicy clove.
Palate: The concentrated palate displays rich flavours of spicy blackcurrants, liquorice and plum with nuances of black pepper and cedary oak tying it all together. The fine rolling tannin provides great structure and balance leading to a long and persistent finish.
