A trip across the Nullarbor is worth doing once in your life. From SA to WA, we were rewarded with the most spectacular beaches when we arrived. Crystal clear water, pristine white sand, friendly (mostly) wildlife. One night we camped in the back of the ute at a local haven, watching the sunset over the water, wine in hand, blissfully tired from swimming all day. It was good for the soul. This rosé is for those sun-kissed, coastal days or the ones spent dreaming about them.
Ooh, tell me more about the wine...
Dry in style and tantalising for the tastebuds....
GI (region where grapes sourced): Barossa Valley
Colour: Delicate pale pink
Aroma: Lifted florals, strawberry notes, rose hip, with hints of tangerine, redcurrant and spice
Palate: The palate is vibrant and energetic with flavours of early picked strawberries, red apple skin and pink grapefruit, balanced by refreshing acidity and a light textural finish
Vintage: 2023
Variety: 100% Cabernet Franc
Harvest Date: 4 March 2023
Maturation: 100% stainless steel fermentation and maturation before being bottled post vintage
Machine picked grapes were picked in the cool, early hours of the morning and allowed to macerate on their skins to gain colour and texture. Once we were happy with the colour achieved, the grapes were tipped directly into the press to separate the juice from the pulp. The wine was gently racked off of gross lees before fermentation in stainless steel. Following fermentation, regular lees stirring was employed to build texture and mouthfeel. The wine was then blended and bottled post vintage.
