We set out on a solid, two day hike around a lake in New Zealand. After sleeping snug as bugs in a wood cabin by the lake (highly recommend!), we set off on the remaining part of the track, only to find an overnight downpour had extinguished any hope of crossing the river. Why not turn back and go the way you came, you say? Adventure...and determination to complete the whole track! However, a near full day detour forced us to face the fact that we had little supplies left. Thankfully, we had over prepared on the wine front. To the intrigue of other hikers, we pulled out one bottle to enjoy over the final hours – a Riesling.
Ooh, tell me more about the wine...
'Folly' is a great example of an Eden Valley Riesling. Fragrant, refreshing and zesty, this wine lingers on the palate and reminds you why this wine is a classic! It makes absolute sense to try this one!
